Careful Planning

With plans to retire from his career as a potter, Bill Stewart of Stewart’s Gallery realized that his studio building could later be converted to a different type of commercial space. Waxhaw’s growing population created a need for more event, brewery and socializing places. The Stewarts considered the idea of maintaining their popular art gallery while turning the pottery studio into something different. The open space behind the Stewart’s studio and shop had been used for the Waxhaw Farmer’s Market.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION

The original building where the Tap House is located was constructed as a pottery studio by Bill Stewart. Bill and his wife Holly own the pottery and art gallery beside the Tap House.

DARTS & Games

A dartboard that has settled more arguments than it has started, cornhole out back, and the game on every screen. Chalk up, throw well, and settle it like neighbors.

The Beer Garden

Out back where the Waxhaw Farmer’s Market used to set up: string lights, picnic tables, a firepit that runs year-round, and cornhole boards that never sit empty. Dogs welcome. Kids too.
